Jacob and Jennie are one of those couples that, when you meet them, dazzle you with their sheer presence. There’s an air of glamour and allurement surrounding them. You quickly realize, though, that they are the most down to earth fun loving couple you could ever imagine. Jennie and Jacob reside in Denmark nowadays, where Jacob is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper.
I actually have been dying to share this wedding ever since I shot it. Not because of the incredibly beautiful couple. No, because it was hands down one of the best parties I attended all year. And I didn’t drink, haha. I was working!! For real people, these folks know how to throw a freaking fantastic party.
Jennie and Jacob were looking for a venue somewhere in-between Örebro and Stockholm. They required easy access and convenient distance for all guests attending the wedding. Jennie says: – “When we first visited Södertuna Slott we felt at once that this would be the perfect spot for our wedding.”
She goes on: –“I love Jacob, only because it feels like he’s a part of me. My life. We have fun together, and it doesn’t matter where we are. As long as I’m with him. It sounds like a total cliché, I know, but it’s never the less accurate. He’s the kindest person I know, and he makes me feel safe no matter where we are. “
Marrying one’s best friend and lover that you always have fun with. The one you laugh together with. The one you miss madly when you aren’t together. Now, how’s that for a love story? Who wouldn’t want to be madly in love like this?
I arrived at Södertuna Slott early in the morning. The sun was blazing down on us. I could tell it would be a sweltering day. Södertuna Slott is a 45-minute drive from Stockholm. Nestled amongst pastures and lakes, it’s quite the prettiest of venues.
As the bride was getting ready, she had her girls helping out. Everyone was in a happy-nervous-excited kind of mood. Stephanie, one of Jennie’s bridesmaids, was practicing her singing performance due to take place during the sermon. Someone was fetching the last decorations for the reception. As Jennie’s sweet-natured mother was looking at her daughter, now preparing to be a bride, I saw her eyes fill up. Her little girl was about to walk down the aisle and become Jacob’s wife.
The one thing that touched me, especially this day, was the incredible wedding ceremony. A singing performance by Gladys, Consuelo, and Stephaine Del Pilar that brought all of us to tears.
It didn’t take long for the group to get going. It might just have been the wildest and funniest wedding reception of the year. You’ll see if you scroll down. It’s the kind of celebration that no one will forget for as long as they live.
Thank you to the lovely bride and groom for having me photograph your amazing wedding, it was so much fun and above all so filled with love!
