Life as a wedding photographer isn’t all glam and glitz you know. Entering offseason and for the first time in months, well most of the year really, I have time for some thoughts. I got the most heartwarming email from one of my brides today. Getting feedback so I can improve my services and offerings is invaluable.

One of the things she wrote that made me especially happy; “We loved the energy Isabelle brought to the day. We only felt positive vibes and heard squeals of excitement from Isabelle as the day unfolded. She made us feel so special and made sure that we were enjoying the moment without interrupting and asking us to pose”.

Those words put a big smile on my face. As a wedding photographer reading that I can be of assistance to my brides is extremely rewarding. It is also essential that we mesh well because as a wedding photographer, I am one of the vendors who is going to be with them for many hours on the wedding day. Making my couples feel special so they can enjoy the moment is my priority!

So why am I telling you this? Well, I had two rejections today, and I was feeling a bit down. It’s hard not to be chosen, every single time. But when I think about all the amazing couples that do pick me, I can’t help but feel grateful, and I want to provide an even better experience for them. So during offseason, I’m looking at everything that I can do better. From the initial response when they contact me, the planning part, what I can enhance on the wedding day itself. And of course, all the way through to delivery, finalizing a wedding album and print orders. I’m excited to take my business to the next level hopefully. So ready for you 2019, bring it on!
