Max & Greta’s Artipelag rooftop wedding

Max and Greta fell head over heels for the art gallery Artipelag and the nature around it. This bride and groom wanted a bright, beautiful, and relaxed wedding where they would feel comfortable and as themselves. They both desired something different than the usual wedding venue. Something relaxed yet sophisticated in a tucked-away setting where their guests could enjoy the day. They had been to Artipelag several times but never thought of it as a wedding venue. Until one day, when it just dawned on them. Artipelag was the perfect place for their wedding! The view from the rooftop is beautiful, and the sunset beaming through the glass wall in the restaurant at night is magic. No better way to get the right ambiance they realized.

Working as a wedding photographer, I always appreciate getting to new locations and shoot weddings. A new location is super inspiring to me, and I get all these new ideas, and Artipelag had that effect on me!

Artipelag

Artipelag is an innovative art gallery and restaurant located in Gustavsberg outside of Stockholm. It has big light-filled spaces and impressive architecture. Consequently, it’s a distinct wedding venue for discerning couples looking for a modern locality for their wedding. A contemporary cultural center with photographic exhibitions and various art installations. Besides the lake view restaurant, Artipelag also has a bar and pavilions for getting ready.

Jewish Wedding Ceremony

Max’s father performed the ceremony on the rooftop of Artipelag. It was filled with personal anecdotes about the bride and groom and made everyone both laugh and cry. The bride and groom chose Max’s father as they knew it would mean a lot to him. He also would be able to share some of the Jewish traditions while keeping it personal and about them, in a light and joyful way. Greta’s father built the chuppah, and on the morning of the wedding, the bride’s family decorated it.

I can’t think of a more beautiful way to celebrate. I feel this wedding has all the hallmarks of what marriages should be about. Two families are coming together as one and helping the newlyweds to have a great start to their life as husband and wife.

The Celebration

The couple most looked forward to seeing all the happy faces of family and friends together under one roof. They imagined all of the festive parts, getting ready with close friends. That first toast as husband and wife. A dinner filled with music and dancing the night away. Champagne at midnight underneath the stars!

Greta had never met anyone like Max before. With his tremendous yet very dry sense of humor, Max makes every person he meets feel like they are seen, heard, and like they are unique. Max always puts everyone but himself first without thinking. He has the most beautiful laughing lines the bride ever has seen.

Max loves Greta because she is the most exceptional person he knows. Not only is she the most beautiful, but she makes him so happy and has made him see life from a completely different side. He enjoys every second with her, living a dream filled with love and laughter.

As you probably understand by now, I’m utterly in love with this wedding at Artipelag. So happy, I was chosen to photograph it. Thank you to the beautiful bride and groom with families, it sure was an occasion I will never forget.
