Emotional Wedding Ceremony at Beckershof
Therese & Daniel’s wedding at Beckershof is something I’ll never forget. Especially their emotional wedding ceremony on the small headland beside the lake. I adore how involved their two beautiful daughters are. Singing during the ceremony making everyone cry, myself included.
I am thrilled to photograph at Beckershof. The manor house sits pretty by the lake and offers a variety of activities. You can row, swim, play lawn games and much more. Furthermore, the barn a few hundred meters from Beckershof is a great spot for parties. The barn feels secluded and you can play music late into the wee hours of the night.
Therese and Daniel’s proposal story is like a romance novel. What girl wouldn’t want her fiancé to go all-in when he asks the girl of his dreams to marry him! Read on below to get the full story!
The Proposal
On my birthday in October of 2014, we had our families over for brunch. After a while, Daniel says that he has made a movie he wants to show us all. We gathered in front of the TV.
The film begins with Daniel standing outside our front door and asks us to go with him on a trip. The journey is to key locations and memories that we have experienced together. All during our 15 fantastic years together.
We travel to the place where we met for the first time and the location for our first date. We revisit our first apartment and hospital where our girls were born and much, much more. While watching the video I can hear music in the background, music that is very dear to my heart. The movie ends with my favorite song and Daniel holding up signs with the lyrics.
When the song is over, Daniel goes down on his knees in the video and in real life and proposes to me! We are all crying tears at thing point and I’m happy. Then he tells me to go pack my bag for a romantic weekend!
What Is Your Favorite Moment From The Wedding?
It’s so hard to pick one, the whole day was magical from beginning to end. I wish I could always live in the amazing bubble and freeze time. But the moment when we saw each other for the first time before the ceremony was very special. The funniest part of the day was dinner with speeches, for sure! I have never laughed and cried so much at the same time, and what amazing friends and family we have! Moments spent at the barn at Beckershof will forever be etched in our minds.
The Decor & Details
Beckerhof set the mood with nature and a relaxed atmosphere. We focused on having details that represented us both. The theme was rustic and simple with a focus on personal items. We felt it was important that our families and friends could feel relaxed. So throughout the weekend, we made sure music was a key ingredient for the entire experience.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was the schedule and that worried us the most. It turned out great in the end with good help from our photographer and our toast-team. Our best tip for couples planning their wedding is to do it together. Pick a spot that you love, as we do with Beckershof! Find a theme that you both feel comfortable with. Design the timeline for the entire wedding weekend and enjoy the planning process!
