There are a couple of things to consider when having a Stockholm city wedding. Being a resident of downtown Stockholm for many years I have learned to navigate this beautiful city during the many weddings I’ve photographed here. Well, I’m sure there are more than a few things. But I want to share my top tips when it comes to planning an urban city wedding in my beautiful hometown. Planning a Stockholm city wedding in can be a pain with all the events that happens constantly in the town. But don’t worry, I’m here to offer some advice to make the planning a bit smoother!

Construction work, it drives everyone mad, right? Make sure you have updated information on where construction is ongoing on your wedding day. You can check current traffic and more at Stockholm city official site. You can learn about upcoming events, such as music festivals, sporting events etc that can impact your transportation during your wedding in Stockholm.

The parking issue. Leave the car at home. Parking is not only expensive but space is also hard to find. Especially street parking. There are a number of parking garages in Stockholm although they are extremely expensive. If you fail to extend your parking permit you might find a ticket on your car window with a hefty fee. Not a very fun way to spend your money. Avoid at all costs and just take an Uber or a regular black cab.

Trust me on this one, you really want that! My best tip is to ask your wedding photographer, they know all the best places. Make sure to book well ahead of time. I really look forward to this couple’s Stockholm city wedding next weekend. We have added plenty of time cushions in between all the big key moments throughout the wedding day.
