Rebecca & Erik’s Winter Wedding at Vidbynäs Gård outside of Stockholm
As I drove to Vidbynäs Gård to photograph Rebecca and Eric’s winter wedding I was hoping the sun would come out. During the night fresh snow had fallen and it covered the landscape completely. Turning the world into a magical Winter Wonderland.
When I arrived Rebecca was with her bridesmaids getting pampered. Drinking champagne while having their hair and makeup done. There was a buzz in the air and I could feel the excitement. I photographed all the details. I photographed flowers, the wedding dress, and shoes. As well as the beautiful decor made by the amazing team of florists and stylists.
When it was time for Rebecca to put on her wedding dress all the bridesmaids gathered around her. By then we had moved into an adjacent room that was spacious and had great light. Her bridesmaids helped her get into the dress and then it was time for the veil and jewelry. Minutes before she went out to see her husband-to-be.
Just before it was time for their first look the sun came out In full force and we got the gorgeous blue sky and lovely golden winter light. Their first look was so sweet and emotional and the groom (as the rest of us) just dropped the jaw when seeing Rebecca.
The ceremony took place in a Turinge Kyrka, just next to Vidbynäs Gård And ask the newlyweds exited the church all the guests gathered to celebrate with giant sparklers.
The entrance area was decorated with large candles and inside white florals was climbing up the staircase. Light blue, white and gold-colored menus, a large beautiful seating chart showed where everyone was seated.
To this date, this is hands down one of the most gorgeous winter weddings I’ve ever photographed. It just goes to show that you can throw an epic winter wedding in the Stockholm area. With a bit of luck with the weather. A fab team. And, of course, a few glittery snowflakes in your wedding crown, it’ll be a wintery dream come true. Enjoy!
