In love this stunning outdoor wedding in Stockholm at Ekensdal. We had the pleasure to join our lovely couple and document their day at the end of August 2015. This wedding was nothing but gorgeous, fun, and emotional. The bride and groom, the sweetest people ever planned the whole wedding themselves and the gorgeous styling was made by the bride.
She got ready together with her bridesmaids at Ekensdal, a lovely venue situated just minutes outside of Stockholm. The guests and the groom arrived by boat before the ceremony at Ekensdal’s own little harbour. The ceremony was heartfelt and lots of music were played. As the bride and groom walked out the guests tossed white rose petals and cheered for the newlyweds, so romantic.
We are beyond thankful that we got to be there to witness their union and to celebrate together with the couple. We honestly love our job, what ever could be better that this, right?
We love working at weddings in Stockholm. The beauty of the sea, the colors and the amazing light and we also love the venue Ekensdal. Ekensdal caters to clients who looks for a custom experience for their wedding. They have an amazing kitchen and will work with you to create the wedding of your dreams. Not every venue is so accommodating and we can not praise Ekensdal enough. It’s a real gem.
We want to say a big thank you to Sandra and Gabriel and their families and friends and to all vendors involved making this wedding pure magic. So thank you to; Mattias at Ekensdal, floral designer Linnéa at The Wild Rose, her assistant Elin from Elins Art Studio, you are all pure awesomeness!
If you have a ny questions to the vendors we suggest you check out their webpages and getting in touch with them. If you are planning an outdoors wedding in Stockholm you’re more than welcome to contact us for photography. Wish you a fab start to 2016, hope to see you at a wedding near Stockholm.
Here’s more from the bride:
“Gabriel proposed in London, Hyde park. He had secretly booked an appointment in advance at Tiffany´s later that day. The bride-to-be felt like a princess picking out the right ring and diamond.
The feel throughout the day represented both of us with a ”less is more” look. but with the ”less” carefully chosen. Details picked to stand out but at the same time being kept in the unadorned. We only chose things that we really liked, regardless if it would fit into “regular” wedding manners. For example, we chose an untraditional wedding cake that focused on the flavor (and not the decor) baked inside-out showing all the ingredients. All the guests got their own “small cake” served at the table. Same with the flower arrangements, we wanted something different but clean, and Linnea did such a great job making the perfect combination for us. Also the dress-code for the guests was dark suit with bow-tie because we think that’s really stylish.
We chose to have an an outdoor wedding ceremony and as you know no one can control the weather. We were nervous for weeks. We were really lucky having a rain-free day with some sun but with quite strong wind. Some of the outside details we had to take away because of that. We were also supposed to have sheets over all the benches but they just blew away. (However it turned out even more beautiful without!)
Our best tip to couples planning their wedding is to not care about what you ”should or shouldn’t do” or who you ”have to invite”, this is your day, do as YOU like. Then take time to enjoy!Personal touches; Cake and sweet things by Daniel Lindeberg, Lindeberg Bakery & Pastry Shop. Stationery & Favours by Bethann Aurand, Raspberry Creative. Entertainment by André Kullberg from DJ Gruppen, vocals on ceremony by Rebecka Sternberg. Our first dance was to La valse d´Amélie from the movie ”Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain”
My favourite moment of the day was when the wedding ceremony started. After months of planning we could finally let everything go and just enjoy. What wasn’t done didn’t matter anymore, and we realise that OUR wedding was actually beginning. The music started, the bridesmaids left one by one. A deep breath, I’m next, walking, and then the first look at each other.”
