Winter Wedding Ljunglöfska Slottet | Jenny & Kenny

Join us for a winter wedding at Ljunglöfska Slottet. We haven’t blogged for ages due to a hectic but fantastic wedding season (that never seems to end). But here goes, finally!

In the very last days of winter, almost spring temperatures, we were fortunate enough to spend a fabulous day with Jenny and Kenny as they got married and celebrated right at Ljunglöfska Slottet. A more loving and graceful couple is hard to find, and we are forever thankful we were chosen to document their wedding. Read more below about how they planned the wedding and what was the most memorable moment of the day. Jenny and Kenny, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we LOVE you!

This wedding has brilliantly enough been featured on Those Lovely Days.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding?

Kenny and I both wanted a small, traditional, and elegant wedding. Neither of us is comfortable to be the center of attention, but since we only had our families and best friends present, the atmosphere was intimate, and we felt relaxed and comfortable all day.

It was essential for us to make the day as pleasant as possible for the guests. So we rented a bus that drove the guests from the church to the reception venue. We made sure the guests had something to drink and eat when they arrived. While we were photographed, a band entertained them.

We treated our guests to small survival kits, which included candy, chewing gum and headache, and hangover tablets.

Why did you choose Ljunglöfska Slottet?

I love castles, and when I was a child I wanted to be a princess. So to me, it is evident that the wedding reception was going to be held at a castle. Just so that I could be a princess for one day. Ljunglöfska Slottet immediately felt right when we visited it a dark and cold November night. It has a warm and cozy feel to it. The staff is very accommodating and it is situated just by the water. As a bonus, it is very close to the church we got married in.

Why the theme and colors?

I’m very fond of the combination of navy blue and gold, very classical and suitable for a castle wedding. I didn’t want typical “girly” colors since I wanted Kenny to be represented by the colors as well. It turned out the wallpaper in the dining room at Ljunglöfska was peacock patterned. So I chose to add peacock feathers to the table decorations. They matched the navy blue and gold theme beautifully.

Favorite detail or moment of the wedding day?

I was told the day would rush by, and it did! I enjoyed the day from start to finish. But my favorite moment was when we exchanged the vows. The traditional words thousands of persons had said before us. The lyrics are simple, yet so meaningful. It is so beautiful when two people promise to love and stand by each other. I also really cherish the memory of walking in and out of the church. Meeting eyes with our families and friends; it was such an emotional experience. Oh, and I also have to say listening to the singer performing the songs we had chosen. Those tunes described my feelings. It was amazing to stand there with the love of my life. And listen to them together.

    Amazing photos as always!!! <3

  3. What?! EVERY single image in this blog post is GORGEOUS! You did such an amazing job documenting this wedding day. And I’m kind of obsessed with the cats in bowties now. Can this be the next big trend in weddings?! 🙂
