Photoshop may be able to hide a multitude of sins, but wouldn’t it be great to already be looking great to start with? For your artsy engagement photos, go for professionals when it comes to your hair and makeup. Stick to styles, and a look you know works for you. Before your engagement photo shoot might not be the best time for a drastic change when it comes to your look. For example, stay away from fake tan treatments, that might not look super swell in your photos.

Location is essential when it comes to your engagement photoshoot. Nothing sets the stages as much as a breathtaking location. Your photographer will certainly suggest some delightful locations for you to take the pictures and if you have an area in mind, you can have your photos taken there too. Just make sure you speak to your photographer ahead of time about it, two locations are always doable as long as you plan for it in advance.

Make sure to get a manicure and pedicure before your photoshoot. Think of it as a way to further pamper and celebrate yourself. Professional nails are the best for your shoot. If you’re a minimalist, you can go for neatly shaped and clear nails. Soft and neutral colors also go well with photography and will make that rock on your hand shine!

• Outfit

Your engagement pictures should be a reflection of you both, just a little bit more polished. Pick something that either matches the location in tones and colors or pick something that really stands out. Much like this couple did. The blue and yellow can represent Sweden but it also creates a juxtaposition to the location and therefore artsy, and distinct engagement photos! Let the outfits you come with be something that you love, make a statement of your love and you look great in!
